Oregon really does look lovely and your easy weave of culture, history, sightseeing and food makes for a very engaging read. How I envy you being caught in a butterfly migration. I must have been spectacular!

Thanks Lakshmi! I suspect you might find the Oregon Madras a little different to your home town ;)

Yes indeed but there is always something about a name :)

I've never been to the PNW...in fact, on the west coast, I've never been further north than (I think) Santa Monica.

But reading this, I've definitely been missing out! Well done!

Separately, I still need to get back to you about your proposed collaboration. Shall I DM on Twitter? Or have your abandoned that dumpster fire already, like most sane people?

It’s glorious. I only wish we’d had the time to drive even further north!

Best to email us with some ideas. Looking forward to the collaboration

What beautiful pictures you share here once again, Marco! And how great to be mentioned by a fellow travel writer you admire! I can almost taste that amazing seafood - another delicious recipe! A great read, as always.

And I must add amazing photos . Never been to Portland but I was fascinated by the name Madras. MY hometown is Madras ( now renamed Chennai) in South of India . But Madras is an emotion :)

Glad you enjoyed it, David.

We knew the butterfly migration was happening but never for one moment expected to be caught up in it. Magical hardly covers it.
