Arguably Marco's most atmospheric narrative yet - and the bar is high! Pity you missed out on those hookahs, though. Deadlines, like records, are there to be broken.

Thank you for the kind words, Robert! At that point in our voyage we had so stressed out our poor guide, Mohamed that it seemed like a kindness to get him back to the boat more or less on time.

It sounds like you had a truly memorable journey! Recently I read Murder on the Nile by Agatha Christie, your words brought back impressions of that elegant trip (minus the murder!).

Thank you for mentioning Dash of Prosecco, I look forward to share my findings (and recipe) this Sunday :)

Me too, Sinù, although deep fried falafel and your own deep fried treat (looking forward very much to the reveal and the recipe) probably shouldn't be enjoyed together in the same meal!

Thank you too for the kind remarks and although no murder was committed on our voyage, I know that our guide Mohamed definitely became super frustrated with us!

Such a great adventure. I’m not sure about travelling on water but the views must be outstanding.

Thank you, Robert! It's a very gentle way to explore the Nile even if you don't much enjoy travelling by water. It's also very difficult to visit those riverside archaeological sites any other way as road access (at least when we visited) is limited and you had to travel in police convoys.

What a fascinating story. You are quite the travellers, most envious!

Thank you Amelia. Honestly, it wrote itself! Egypt could do with all the support we can give, so I urge you to visit. We are long overdue for a return.

I really appreciate that, Lakshmi. It was quite some time ago but definitely unforgettable

Thank you Lynn! Sadly, completing the voyage downriver to the Nile Delta remains on our to do list
